We want to hear from you! 8:30 - 9:15 am Education Issues PCCA President & CEO Tim Wagner, Education Committee members, and the PCCA Education and Research Foundation report on PCCA’s workforce development initiative, U.S. DOL apprenticeship grant initiative, and the PCCA Scholarship Program. 9:15 - 9:30 am Break 9:30 - 10:45 am Government & Industry Issues Led by Jaime Steve, Zack Perconti, and the PCCA Government & Industry Affairs Committee, this session details the committee’s recent initiatives, maps out its upcoming activities, and asks members about the issues that are affecting their businesses. Representatives from government and industry will provide brief reports on issues relevant to power and broadband construction. 10:45 - 11 am Break 11 am - 12 pm Economic Issues Mark Bridgers, Continuum Capital, leads a discussion on the myriad factors impacting the national economy and the markets in which PCCA members work. Bridgers’ in-depth knowledge of construction markets, owner concerns, and financial topics, combined with his ability to convey difficult topics to laypeople and professionals alike, makes him an intriguing speaker. 12 - 6 pm PCCA Golf Tournament PCCA members are serious about their golf, and they’re even more serious about having a good time so make sure to sign up for this tournament at Monarch Beach Golf Links. Renowned designer Robert Trent Jones, Jr. modeled Monarch Beach Golf Links in the traditional Scottish links style. With tight fairways, firm greens, and striking scenery, the course is challenging yet playable. It was named one of Golf Digest’s “Best Places to Play” and a GOLF Magazine “Gold Medal Resort.” $390 includes cart, box lunch, bottled water and 1 sleeve of balls. $90 for rental clubs. 1 - 5:15 pm Cruising the Harbor Casually cruise the harbor in an intimate electric Duffy boat while enjoying the scenery! And you’ll also have free time to explore Balboa Island. The many islands are lined with pricey, beautiful homes and yachts. Guides will provide facts about the canal, homes, and area in general during the cruise. Following the sightseeing trip around Newport Harbor, you’ll be dropped off on Balboa Island where they will find specialty shops, boutiques, and of course the original home to the Frozen Banana! Located within Newport Harbor, Balboa Island is quaint and scenic with a famous boardwalk. You will see beachfront homes and panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean— a true paradise! $275 includes transportation, boats, bottled water, and a famous Balboa bar or Frozen Banana, taxes, and gratuities. 1:45- 4:30 pm Mission San Juan Capistrano Wine Tasting Start the afternoon at Mission San Juan Capistrano, known as the Jewel of the Mission System, where docents will lead you on a tour. Beautifully landscaped courtyards, old adobe buildings, and a chapel adorned with an ornate gilded alter are just a few of the sights you will enjoy. This mission is a must see and is the foundation of the city. It is also said to be where wine was first produced in California! Then walk over to Rancho Capistrano Winery in San Juan Capistrano Orange County’s emerging wine town. Rancho Capistrano Winery is a family-owned restaurant offering hand-crafted wines from grapes gathered around the world, as well as many picked in California. Each wine is blended, fermented, oaked, racked, filtered, and bottled in their Southern California facilities. You will enjoy appetizers and wine tasting out on the patio! $245 includes transportation, 1-hour docent guided tour, tasting of 4 wines with appetizers, taxes, and gratuities. 7 - 9:30 pm Farewell Dinner Join the group on the Grand Lawn for some wine and cocktails, dinner, and entertainment. Wednesday, August 9 9:15 am - 1:15 pm A Presidential Tour The late Richard Nixon will forever hold a significant place in history as a powerful dignitary who forged the pages of time through political and personal challenges. Guests learn much more about his multifaceted personality during a tour of the museum dedicated to his life. Featuring nine acres of magnificent gardens, fascinating galleries, archives, and Richard Nixon’s faithfully restored place of birth, the library is intriguing for everyone. Permanent galleries include The Wave of Change, The Oval Office, The Vietnam War, Domestic Policy Vision, Communism and the Cold War, First Lady Pat Nixon, Life in the White House, Watergate, The Lincoln Sitting Room, and more! Guests can explore the collection at their leisure and ask questions of the many well-informed docents throughout the galleries. $245 includes transportation, admission, 2-hour docent-guided tour, taxes, and gratuities.
