The Diplomat Beach Resort–Hollywood, Florida

Founded in 1925 by visionary developer Joseph Young, Hollywood was designed to be a “Dream City by the Sea,” and a century later, it continues to live up to that vision. Located midway between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood offers a unique blend of naturally beautiful beaches, a vibrant downtown area, and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that still values its roots. When you’re ready to explore, you don’t have to go far. Just north of The Diplomat Resort lies one of the city’s most beloved landmarks, the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk, a 2.5-mile oceanfront promenade named one of America’s Best Beach Boardwalks by Travel + Leisure. While there, you can stop by one of Hollywood’s best-known restaurants, 7 Tables On The Beach Authentic Peruvian Cuisine. Cross the Intracoastal Waterway into downtown, and you enter a vibrant urban area that centers around Young Circle Park, a 10-acre green space that often hosts open-air concerts, food trucks, and art festivals. Within walking distance of the park, you’ll find two of the area’s most popular restaurants, the European-inspired Thanks for Harrison and Villa Romana Italian & Romanian Restaurant. A short stroll farther reveals another hallmark of Hollywood’s creative spirit: the Downtown Hollywood Mural Project, where you can simply wander the streets and discover more than 30 large-scale works by local and international artists, turning a casual walk into a selfguided art tour through the heart of the city. Discover a refreshing escape into Hollywood’s lush outdoors at the Anne Kolb Nature Center, where you’ll wind through the mangroves to a five-story observation tower, perfect for observing the 1,500 acres of protected coastal wetland. The Marine Environmental Education Center offers an up-close look at resident sea turtles, and you can experience hands-on exhibits inside the Carpenter House at North Beach Park. With more than 60 public parks spread throughout town, nature is never far away! Hello Hollywood, Florida! Additional Details Transportation Ground Transportation: Taxis, rental cars, and ride services are readily available at the airport and from the lobby of the hotel. Airport: Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is 9 miles (24 minutes) north of the hotel, and Miami International Airport (MIA) is 22 miles (35 minutes) south of the hotel. Weather The average high in March is 79, and the average low is 65. What to Wear PCCA meetings are largely resort casual, meaning that shorts, golf shirts, sandals, and sneakers are acceptable, but you wouldn’t look out of place in slacks and a dress shirt. For the Annual Prayer Breakfast, people get a little dressier; some men wear sport coats. Pre- and Post-Convention Rates The resort will honor the discounted PCCA room rate for three days before and three days after the convention, based on availability.

Opening Session: People First: The Next Evolution of Construction for Culture, Performance & Profit w/ Mark Breslin 6:30 - 7:30 pm The competition for talent in the power and communication construction industry has never been greater. In today’s market, offering higher pay alone is no longer enough to attract or keep the best people. The People First: The Next Evolution of Construction for Culture, Performance & Profit program challenges contractors to think differently about leadership, retention, and workforce engagement. This powerful keynote with Mark Breslin explores how culture, communication, and purpose-driven leadership have become as essential to performance as safety and production—and why the most successful contractors are redefining their edge around people, not just projects. Through real-world examples and best practices from topperforming contractors, participants will learn how to create a workplace that builds loyalty, develops talent, and drives profitability. The People First approach will equip PCCA members with practical strategies to strengthen their talent pipeline, elevate field leadership, and foster a culture that attracts the next generation of workers. Attendees will leave with actionable steps to move from reactive management to intentional leadership—transforming their teams and securing a competitive advantage in an evolving industry. Chairman’s Welcome Reception & Dinner 7:30 - 9:30 pm PCCA Chairman Rob Pribyl and his wife, Kelly, host a reception and dinner under the stars at the freshly renovated South Palm Court. Catch up with old friends and welcome new ones while enjoying a refreshing beverage and the culinary creations of the Diplomat Beach Resort banquet team. Sunday, March 8 53rd Annual Prayer Breakfast 8 - 9:30 am The Prayer Breakfast is a longtime PCCA tradition that unites members and their families in scripture, music, and fellowship. Crisis! Then, as the deadline nears, things get a little crazy and it’s everyone for themselves! Auction & Dinner 7 - 10 pm The PCCA Auction is the liveliest night on the PCCA calendar. PCCA revelers bid on a variety of fabulous trips, ballgames, tools, equipment, jewelry, and much, much more. Monday, March 9 Annual Contractor/Associate Exhibit & Breakfast 8 - 10:30 am PCCA’s supplier and manufacturer members host the Annual Contractor/ Associate Exhibit & Breakfast. Contractor members peruse the displays, meet with vendors, discuss jobsite issues, and learn about the industry’s latest products and services in a very relaxed atmosphere. Catch the Wave: How PCCA Members Can “Hang Ten” for Data Center Development 10:30 - 11:45 am The announcement and proposed spending on data center infrastructure through 2030 is astounding, and many of these data centers will be built in rural America where the confluence of natural gas access, water access, available land, potential for low-cost power access, and the ability to bring fiber to the site all exist together. These geographies sit atop of the natural service territories for many PCCA members, which raises the question of who will do the work. Attend this session and gain the following insights: • Hyperscalers, developers, speculators: who are they, who to pursue, who to avoid, and how do you tell the difference? • The “prosumer” model: on-site power generation and storage are taking place—who will select it, how will it be powered, and who will build it? • Development & planning cycle: what is the timeline, how is it occurring, and how can you break into the process? • Case study: Utah High Performance Compute Data Center Campus Mark Bridgers, Principal of Continuum Capital, will moderate a panel of experts that includes David Hamner, Managing Director Data Center Infrastructure at Continuum Capital, a 20+ year veteran of the global data center development market who has ridden the trends and will help you surf this wave of activity. Other invited panelists include industry professionals involved in site selection, logistics, power demarcation and planning at the site, and provisioning of new sites with fiber. PCCA Golf Tournament: The Club at Emerald Hills 12 - 6 pm The Club at Emerald Hills is one of South Florida’s finest championship golf courses, recognized by Golf Digest as one of its “Best Places to Play.” The Club was opened in 1969 and originally designed by Bruce Devlin and Robert Von Hagge. Centrally located between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, in the city of Hollywood, The Club at Emerald Hills displays a harmonious blend of undulating greens, contoured bunkers and hills, all meticulously maintained to guarantee you a challenge. As the host site for the PGA Tour Doral and Honda Open Qualifiers, The Club has also hosted U.S. Open, U.S. Senior Open, U.S. Amateur, U.S. Mid-Amateur, and U.S. Public Links qualifiers as well as several local PGA events.
