PCCA Calls for GIS Mapping of Underground Facilities

With billions of federal dollars set to flow into underground infrastructure markets, PCCA today called for GIS mapping by facility owners to ensure for the accurate locating of underground facilities. See PCCA's position paper here.

Construction Suicide Prevention Week: September 5-9

988Hotline Every year, during September — National Suicide Prevention Month — the construction industry dedicates a week to raising awareness about the unique challenges workers face in construction, how it can lead to suicide, and what we can do to prevent it. Together, we can save lives.

Construction Suicide Prevention Week is dedicated to raising awareness about the high number of suicides in the industry and to providing resources to help prevent those deaths.

TIRAP at Northwood Technical College

PCCA education partner Northwood Technical College will be offering Overhead & Underground Utility Technician Programs as part of the Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprenticeship Program (TIRAP) beginning in August. These programs help move your low- or no-skill entry-level employees to full occupational proficiency.

In Memoriam: Tim Killoren

We are saddened to report the passing of Tim Killoren, PCCA Past Chairman, longtime Board member, and a dear friend to many in our association and our industry.

A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 11, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Pickerel, Wis. Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home with a parish wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation will also be held Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.

The family says that a memorial fund in Tim's name will be established, and PCCA will keep you updated.

PCCA Announces 2022-23 Scholarship Winners

During the 77th Annual PCCA Convention in Scottsdale, Ariz., in March, the PCCA Education & Research Foundation announced the recipients of its 2022-2023 scholarships: Eli Herkenrath, Silver Lake, Kans.; Brady Harmand, Marland, Okla.; Benjamin Tholen, Bristol, Ill.; Richard Sapp, Coleman, Mich.; and Bret Jennings, Linn, Mo.
